About the Editor

Hello! My name is Kirsten, and I am the owner and editor here at Unbound Literary Editing.

I've been an avid reader most of my life, and I have many fond childhood memories about book clubs I was in and the stories I read. When I discovered independently published books as an adult, I was hooked.

The transition from reader to editor was years in the making. I had already completed a bachelor of arts, a diploma, and spent years working in veterinary medicine and other unrelated fields.

After working with authors behind the scenes, gaining knowledge and experience, I decided to go back to university and take editing courses. My skill level was proven to be proficient, and here we are today. Helping authors polish their manuscripts truly brings me joy!

My favorite genres are fantasy and romance, but I have an extremely varied reading style. Sometimes it's YA, others it's monster romanceI don't like to limit myself.

The authors I work with, and their manuscripts, are just as diverse as my reading style. Everyone is welcome here at Unbound.

When I'm not reading or editing, my hobbies are mostly those once considered old that are now popular. They include many fiber arts (knitting, crochet, sewing), gardening, baking, and gathering a plant army that just might have too many monsteras. I also enjoy playing video games.

I grew up in the heart of Canada's boreal forest and remain a bit of a wildling. If I'm working on your manuscript, the chances are that it will be partially edited from a comfy spot under a giant spruce tree.

Although my training includes both non-fiction and fiction, my editing focus will remain on fiction.

I also have an unrelated B.A. and a past career in veterinary medicine.
